Paint Protection Film (PPF) FAQ’s
Q. What is Paint Protection Film/Clear Bra?
Paint Protection Film, also known as Clear Bra is transparent film that's seamlessly installed to the exterior (in some instances interior) of your vehicle. PPF protects your vehicle from UV exposure, bug splatters, chips and scratches caused by road debris and rocks. The urethane film’s “self-healing” top layer is made of elastomeric polymers that will return to their natural shape after being disfigured or scratched.
Q. How long will PPF last?
We use products with a 10 year limited manufactures warranty. This covers cracking, staining, yellowing, bubbling, and delaminating. However, you can increase the longevity of your clear bra by properly maintaining it. Please consult your Luxe Auto Studio technician for instructions on how to properly maintain your vehicle.
Q. Will Paint Protection Film damage my paint?
PPF will not damage your car’s factory paint. The film should be removed by a professional technician. If your car has been repainted there is a risk that the paint could peel when removing film.
Q. Can I Ceramic Coat my PPF?
Yes, installing a ceramic coating over PPF will expand its lifespan and enhance the finish. Additionally, a ceramic coat makes washing your vehicle a lot easier.
Q. How much does PPF cost?
This will depend on the amount of coverage you choose to get. We offer entry level packages up to full coverage of your vehicle. Please contact Luxe Auto Studio for a free consult to ensure the package you choose meets your needs.
Q. How long will the installation process take?
This depends on the package you choose. Installation times will range from one day to a week or more. We'll be sure to set proper expectations upfront and keep you updated on your vehicle's progress.
Q. Can you install PPF on a car with paint defects?
Yes, however, we recommend getting paint correction before applying PPF as it can magnify your vehicle’s imperfections.
